Giving the competition a tough run for the money, the sophisticated
new 2002 Nissan Sentra Sedan enters the market for yet another
successful year with refined handling, solid overall performance,
and a wide range of standards and options. Nissan enjoys
a good reputation for economy without sacrificing quality,
and the new Sentra is no exception.
Available Models
Demonstrating a broad selection of performance,
luxury, and safety features this year are two outstanding
models - the sensible Nissan Sentra XE Sedan and luxurious
Nissan Sentra GXE Sedan.
Interior Features
Within the comfortable cabin of the four-door
Sentra XE Sedan are features such as available air conditioning,
power door locks, power windows, battery saver, AM/FM stereo
with CD player and four speakers, and a convenient 60/40
split folding rear seat to accommodate excess luggage and
other cargo. The seating capacity is five passengers.
The Sentra GXE Sedan also sports these features, and adds
options like cruise control, map lights, overhead sunglass

as an accessory on this model. The seating is upholstered
with velour cloth, and the driver's seat is eight-way adjustable.
Exterior Features
Each Nissan Sentra Sedan features smooth curves,
intelligent lines, and a great curbside appearance. Among
the key exterior features on the Sentra GXE are dual power
body-color outside mirrors and body-color door handles,
and fourteen-inch wheel covers and tires. A rear spoiler
is available as an option, as are front fog lights.
Performance
Both of the Nissan Sentra Sedan models are equipped

manual, with four-speed automatic an option on both vehicles.
Each vehicle is built with a front independent strut-type
suspension and rear mulit-link beam suspension, and power-assisted
engine-speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering.
Safety and Security
The Nissan Sentra Sedan is bolstered by safety
standards that include a driver depowered air bag, passenger
depowered air bag, child safety door locks in the rear seating
area, front and rear crumple zones, hood buckling creases,
and pipe-style steel side impact door beams. The rear seat
