The popular new 2002 Ford Focus features a host of improvements
and additions for the year, making it a highly competitive
vehicle in its class. It has been noted for its solid performance,
handling, and versatility offered in its various packages.

Plenty of choice is offered up for 2002. The
full range of models available includes the four-door sedans
(Focus LX Sedan, Focus SE Sedan), four-door wagons (Focus
SE Wagon, Focus ZTS Wagon, Focus ZTW), two-door hatchbacks
(Focus ZX3), and four-door hatchback (Focus ZX5 SVT). The
2002 Ford Focus ZX5 is a new addition to the line up this
year, serving up a combination of modern state-of-the-art
design with the sensibility of features such as a split
folding rear seat and four-door entry. The 2002 Ford Focus
ZTW is a new wagon package that will knock your socks off,
too.
Interior Features
The 2002 Ford Focus is equipped with new features
such as rear-seat map pockets on the LX, SE, and ZX3 models
and kangaroo pouches on the ZTS. Among the options available
are a six-disc in-dash CD changer, and a power moonroof
for a pleasant interior ambience.
An AM/FM stereo with cassette player is standard on the
base model LX, while the subsequent models sport an AM/FM
stereo with CD player. ZX5 and ZTW feature standard AM/FM
stereo with six-CD player. Most models are equipped with
air conditioning, power door locks, and power windows. Each
vehicle has a 60/40 split folding rear seat to allow for
extra cargo.
Exterior
Features
The handy rear hatches of the wagon and hatchback
models make the loading and unloading of groceries, luggage,
and other cargo fast and easy. The four-door models ensure
that the entry and exit of passengers is equally simplified.
The ZX5 is built with sixteen-inch aluminum wheels and fog
lamps.
Performance
The 2002 Ford Focus LX and SE models are powered
by a 2.0-litre, SOCH four-cylinder engine that produces
110 horsepower and 125 lbs-ft of torque. These models are
accompanied by a standard five-speed manual transmission.
Jumping up to another level, the Ford Focus ZX3, ZTS, and
wagon models feature a 2.0-litre, DOHC Zetec inline four-cylinder
engine that is capable of 130 horsepower and 135 lbs-ft
of torque. These vehicles all sport a five-speed manual
transmission. Four-speed automatic transmission is an option
that is available on all models for those who prefer it.
Safety and Security
The Ford Focus emphasizes safety, with such standards
as electronic crash severity sensor, three-point seatbelts,
driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and
driver's seat position sensor. The list continues with child
seat anchors and tethers, front and rear crumple zones,
