Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevy Venture.

Extended length Ventures are not only bigger than their regular length counterparts; they also offer GM's Versatrak all-wheel drive system. This gives the minivan precision handling, as well as added safety.

For 2004, more optional equipment is available with both Venture models. XM Satellite Radio and a CD/MP3 player are both newly offered, as are captain's chairs on LS models. There are also three new exterior colors and an LS Easy Order Package.

Available Models
The extended length 2004 Chevrolet Venture is offered in three trims: Plus, LS and LT. The regular length Venture is covered in another review.

Interior Features
The Venture has standard dual sliding rear doors. Dual power sliding doors are available, providing even easier entry. Available separate front and rear HVAC controls create two interior environments within the minivan.

With its folding-flat captain's chairs, the Venture can offer up to 140.7 cubic feet of cargo space. It has a low step-in height for everyone from the very young to the very old.

A DVD-based entertainment system is standard with AWD LT models. Three auxiliary jacks for devices such as video games and camcorders are also offered. When in use, passengers can use the DVD player, the radio and the CD player all at the same time.

Exterior Features
The 2004 Venture has an available rear-parking assist system. It alerts the driver of objects or people behind the vehicle with both audio and visual signals while the van is in reverse, making Venture the only vehicle on the road to offer both types of indicators.

Performance
The 2004 extended length Chevrolet Venture has a 3.4-liter V6 engine. It can produce 185 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. Mated to this engine is a 4-speed electronic automatic transmission with overdrive.

With GM's Versatrak all-wheel drive system, customers are also treated to 16-inch aluminum wheels and tires, four-wheel disc brakes and a fully independent rear touring suspension. Versatrak monitors the vehicle's wheels and, if one of them loses grip, it applies the appropriate pressure to relieve the situation and maintain a steady course.

Safety and Security
The Chevrolet Venture offers four-wheel antilock brakes, driver and front-passenger airbags, driver and passenger side-impact airbags, the LATCH child seat system and child security rear door locks. Integrated child safety seats are standard on all vans except for those with captain's chairs.
