Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevy S-10.

The life of the durable S-10 is slowly coming to a close. The compact pickup truck has had a nice run, but as we well know, all good things must come to an end. For the S-10, it is being discontinued to make way for the all-new Colorado, a slightly larger pickup truck with a more modern flare.

For its last go-round, the manufacturers at Chevrolet decided to offer the 2004 Chevy S-10 only as a 4WD crew cab. This sporty, versatile model displays the range of talents that the S-10 is known for. It has power, handling, spaciousness and comfort all wrapped together.

Available Models
The 2004 Chevy S-10 is offered as a crew cab in an LS trim.

Interior Features
The S-10 crew cab has four full doors and can seat up to five passengers on two front bucket seats and a rear bench seat.

The inside of the 4WD crew cab is roomy and well appointed. Air conditioning, a tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated power mirrors, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, an AM/FM/CD player, a digital clock, a compass and an outside-temperature indicator are all standard-and that's just part of the list.

There aren't many options for 2004, but the ones available are quite enticing. Leather upholstery and an in-dash 6-disc CD changer top the list of available interior enhancements.

Exterior Features
For its last year, the 2004 Chevy S-10 offers a ZR5 Appearance Package. It outfits the pickup with Spectra Gray wheel flares and bumpers, 15-inch cast-aluminum five-spoke wheels, side steps, bed rails, a roof rack and ZR5 decals.

Performance
The engine of the 2004 Chevy S-10 is a 4.3-liter Vortec V6 model, able to generate 180 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 245 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm. The multi-port fuel-injection system features a central fuel injector that delivers a separate flow of fuel to six individual hybrid injectors for better performance and improved emissions. It is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The S-10 employs an advanced four-wheel drive system for exceptional handling in tough situations. The Insta-trac system is standard on the Crew Cab and features an electronic shift transfer case, which provides shift-on-the-fly capability from 2WD to 4WD High and back by using an instrument panel-mounted push button.

Safety and Security
The Chevy S-10 will go out as safe as when it first debuted. 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, dual front airbags and daytime running lights are standard. Limited-slip differential is optional.
