The standard transmission is five-speed manual, with a four-speed
automatic with Enhanced Traction System available as an
option.
Up to the next level, the Grand Am GT coupe and sedan models
boast a 3.4-litre SFI six-cylinder engine that cranks out
170 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Fine-tuning performance
a bit more, the GT1 models feature a 3.4-litre Ram Air six-cylinder
engine that turns it up to 175 horsepower and 205 lb-ft
of torque for amazing acceleration.
