America's safest full-size car the classy Ford Taurus receives a new model to its lineup for 2009 - the Taurus SE becomes the base model with an impressive list of standard features.

Available Models
Ford offers three models for the 2009 Ford Taurus - the SE, SEL and Limited.

Interior Features
The spacious 2009 Ford Taurus seats five, with seat trims of cloth to leather. The rear seats feature a fold down armrest with two beverage holders while the front seats have a center floor console with two beverage holders, an armrest and storage space.

For a classy look all models come with a woodgrain trim appliqué on the instrument panel, center stack and console - that looks continue over to woodgrain trim on the door for the SEL and Limited models. The Taurus Limited also has an available Limited Wood Package that includes woodgrain inserts on the steering wheel and shift knob.

Standard on the Limited and available on the SEL is SYNC® -- Ford's voice-activated communication and entertainment system that allows you to operate Bluetooth enabled phones, flash drives and MP3 players with voice commands.

Exterior Features
The classy Taurus features chrome on the 3-bar grille, front and rear fascia trim, fender vents and dual chrome exhaust tips. Fog lights come standard and a power moonroof is available on SEL and Limited models.

Seven new exterior colors are offered for 2009: Cinnamon Metallic, White Suede, White Sand Tri-Coat, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Sangria Red Metallic, Tuxedo Black Metallic and Smokestone Metallic.

Performance
All Taurus models are powered by a 3.5 liter V6 coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission that cranks out 263 horsepower and 249 lb.-ft torque. Standard is a front-wheel drivetrain with an all-wheel drive available on the SEL and Limited.
AdvanceTrac electronic stability control is standard on all Taurus models.

Safety and Security
With the list of safety features it's no wonder the Ford Taurus is rated America's safest full-size car. Standard is the SOS Post Crash Alert System which will unlock the doors and activate the emergency flashers and horns if the airbags have been deployed, Ford's Safety Canopy® designed to protect the occupants in side impact collisions and rollover accidents, Side air bags and the Personal Safety System® including dual -stage front airbags and crash severity sensor.

Stability control: Ford's innovative AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control technology is standard equipment on the 2009 Ford Taurus, rated America's safest full-size car.
Crash alert: The 2009 Taurus introduces a new standard SOS-Post Crash Alert System, which unlocks the vehicle doors and activates the horn and emergency flashers in the event air bags are deployed.
More choices: The 2009 model year brings a new series designation. Taurus SE, the Taurus family's impressively equipped base series, brings the number of customer series choices to five.
