Available Models
Ford has four different model groups the Expedition XLT,
Eddie Bauer, Limited and the Expedition King Ranch. Each
is available in regular length or an extended length version
making a total of eight models to choose from.
Interior Features
The Ford Expedition XLT seats five passengers comfortably
with an optional third row that increases the seating capacity
up to eight. The Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch all
come standard with the third row seating for seating arrangements
of 7 or 8 passengers. The seats are cloth on the XLT, leather
trimmed on the Eddie Bauer and Leather on the Limited and
King Ranch Models.
Standard on the Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch and
available on the XLT is SYNC® an in-car voice activated
communications and entertainment system which allows you
to operate MP3 players, Bluetooth® enabled cell phones
and flash drives with voice commands. SYNC also includes
a Vehicle Health Report feature and 911 Assist™. All
models come with a standard MP3 jack in the center console
and an optional rear seat DVD entertainment system.
Available on Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch models
is a Voice-activated Navigation System that includes features
such as SIRIUS® Travel Link™, a 10 GB Hard Drive
and 340 watt Premium Sounds System.
Exterior Features
The exterior of the 2009 Ford Expedition is based off the
same tough image Ford's lines of trucks have. The XLT and
Limited models come with body color upper and lower fascia,
while the Eddie Bauer and King Ranch models come with Pueblo
Gold colored lower from and rear lower fascia. The front
grille is body color monochrome on the Limited and chrome
on all other models.
All models come with privacy glass in the rear windows
and a power moonroof is available on all models.
Performance
All Expedition models are powered by a 5.4L SOCH 3V Flex
Fuel V8 combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission that
cranks out 310 hp and 365 lb.-ft. of torque. The fuel efficiency
is respectable for a vehicle of this size and power and
gets 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
Safety and Security
All Ford Expedition models include Ford's Personal Safety
System® which includes dual stage driver and front passenger
airbags, driver's seat position sensor and front crash severity
sensors. Also standard on all models is the Safety Canopy™
System, 4-wheel anti-lock braking system, tire pressure
monitoring system and S.O.S Post-Crash Alert System.
