With an impressive fuel economy rating the 2009 Ford Escape
Hybrid gives green minded consumers who need the functionality

Available Models
There are two models available the Escape Hybrid base model
and the Escape Hybrid Limited.
The Limited includes upgrades such as premium leather trimmed
seats, heated front seats and 6-way power driver's seat,
ambient lighting, reverse sensing system, chrome upper and
lower grille and liftgate garnish and a moonroof.
Interior Features
The interior is roomy for a compact SUV - when the 60/40
rear bench seat is folded flat a level cargo floor is created
that gives a total of 66.1 cubic feet of cargo storage room.
Both models feature an audio input jack while the base model
come with an AM/FM single CD, four speaker sound system
the Limited comes with an AM/FM 6-disc CD system with four
speakers - both have SIRIUS satellite capability.
Available to the Escape Hybrid is a voice-activated Navigation
system that features SIRIUS Travel Link service. This system
is awesome and features real time traffic monitoring, as
well as information such as local gas prices, movie listings,
weather information and sports scores.
Exterior Features
The attractive exterior of both Escape Hybrid models comes
with body-colored fascias, solar tinted glass, fog lights,
and Easy Fuel capless fueling. The mirrors, roof rack
side rails and door handles are black on the Hybrid while
the Limited model comes with body colored mirrors and handles
and chrome inserts on the roof rack side rails.
A moonroof is available on the base model and comes standard
on the Limited.
Performance
Both models are powered by a 2.5 liter iVCT I4
Atkinson-cycle engine and permanent magnet electric motor
and come with an Electronically Controlled Continuously
Variable Transmission (eCVT). Front wheel drive is standard
for the Escape Hybrid but a 4-wheel drive is available to
both models as an option. The engine is surprisingly peppy
for a hybrid and produces 153 horsepower and will get you
34 mpg city driving on the front wheel drive vehicles.
Safety and Security
Safety features for both the base and Limited Escape Hybrid
models include Ford's Personal Safety System®, Safety
Canopy® System, tire pressure monitoring system, SecuriLock®
Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), illuminated entry, LATCH
system, 4-wheel antilock brake system, remote keyless entry
and much more.
