four doors and a fifth door - a rear liftgate that allows

models, a Luxury Package, Leather Package, and Cold Weather

Interior Features
The 2002 Volkswagen Passat Wagon headlines standard
fare such as 60/40 split folding rear seat for extra cargo
, stainless steel loading edge protection, four tie-down
hooks in the trunk, front center armrest with storage compartment,
and adjustable lumbar support for both driver's and passenger's
seats. Further standards on the list include rearview mirror
control pad with joystick control, a premium AM/FM stereo

The Volkswagen Passat Wagons sports all-season
tires, halogen projector lens front fog lights integrated
into the front bumper, body color body side moldings, black
grille with center logo, and body color door handles. The
exterior is also marked by body color bumpers with black
lower section, roof-mounted flexible black whip antenna,
body color mirror housings, and heated dual power outside
mirrors for clear visibility in cold weather. The Passat
GLX Sedan has an availablepower glass sunroof with tilt
and slide feature, tinted glass, and sunshade.
Performance
The VW Passat GLS 1.8T Wagon motors along to
the tune of a 1.8-litre, turbo-charged, four-cylinder engine
that produces 170 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque. The
standard transmission on this and all other Passat Wagon
models is a five-speed manual, with a five-speed automatic
transmission with Tiptronic available as an option.
Each of the Passat GLS VR6 Wagon and Passat GLX Wagon are
built with an impressive 2.8-litre, six-cylinder engine
that cranks out 190 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque.
For outstanding performance in challenging mud, snow, and
other terrain condition, both models feature an available
"4Motion" permanent all-wheel drive system that
includes torque sensing center differential (available with
the automatic transmission models only).
Safety and Security
In the safety department, the VW Passat Wagon
features protective padding on the inside of the doors,
child safety locks, side curtain air bags, ABS brakes, side
impact door beams, child seat tethers and anchors, driver
air bag, and passenger air bag. A four-year/50,000 miles
24-hour roadside assistance program is included in the package.
