The sporty and sleek new 2002 Chrysler Sebring Coupe is
a testament to outstanding value in a vehicle that delivers
excellent luxury features, solid performance, and plenty
of fun. Not to mention its dedication to providing a safe
environment to its passengers.
Available Models
Rounding out the list of coupes available for
2002 are two different models - the Sebring LX Coupe and
the Sebring LXi Coupe. The Sebring LXi Coupe takes off where
the base model stops, adding a variety of luxury and performance
features. Both models have experienced a marked redesign
this year.
Interior Features
The Chrysler Sebring Coupe LX packs standards
such as theater-style seating, gliding front seats for easy
entry, 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space, and a comfortable,
spacious interior. The rear seat splits 60/40 and folds
down to increase cargo space while at the same time accommodating
passengers in the back seat.
Also on the list for the Sebring LX Touring model is an
AM/FM four-disc CD changer with six speakers. Sebring LXi
takes the audio feature and upgrades it to a premium AM/FM
four-disc CD changer with seven-speaker Infinity sound system.
A standard AM/FM stereo with cassette and CD player remains
an option.
New for 2002, a battery saver feature the turns off interior
lamps after the ignition has been off for three minutes.
Exterior Features
With eye-catching appeal, the Sebring Coupe features
a chrome-surround grille and front fog lights. The design
of the rear section of the vehicle has been borrowed from
the sophisticated Chrysler 300M Sedan. This year sees two
new color added to the line up - Dark Titanium Metallic
and Caffe Latte - for an updated look.
Performance
The Sebring Coupe performs with deft precision, and
the Lxi is equipped with an impressive 3.0-litre, SOHC,
24-valve six-cylinder engine that pumps out a blistering
200 horsepower and 205 lbs-ft of torque. This powertrain
is also available on the base LX. It can really move when
you ask it to, with no verbal complaints or undue vibrations
felt within the cabin. Standard transmission is a five-speed
manual, with an optional four-speed automatic with AutoStick.
Under the hood of the base Sebring LX Coupe is a 2.4-litre,
SOHC, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine that produces 142 horsepower
and 205 lbs-ft of torque. The standard transmission for
this model is four-speed automatic. Optional sixteen-inch
tires are offered.
Safety and Security
The Sebring Coupe covers a wide array of safety
standards, including a driver side air bag, passenger side
air bag, three-point seatbelts, side impact door beams,
front and rear crumple zones, and head restraints.
