Part of the large Chrysler Sebring family, the coupe distinguishes
itself from the convertible and the sedan as something of
a compromise between the two. It has the flash and style
of the convertible, with the room and sensibility of the
sedan. And like all 2004 Sebrings, the coupe is affixed
with a reasonable price so you don't have to rearrange your
life to afford it.
The 2004 Chrysler Sebring coupe manages to fit a spacious
passenger compartment inside the sensuous lines of a coupe.
On top of its powerful V6 and smooth ride, the coupe adds
a nice set of comfort appointments to the package. If that's
not enough, there is a healthy options list to consider.
Available Models
While the 2004 Chrysler Sebring coupe can't boast the four-model
lineup that the convertible can, it still has two distinct
trims: LX and LXi.
Interior Features
The two-door Chrysler Sebring coupe has room for five passengers
total, though five adults might be a bit of a squeeze. However,
Chrysler's cab-forward concept does result in generous space
for at least four riders by extending the windshield forward,
increasing the length and width of the cabin.
The 2004 Chrysler Sebring coupe clearly distinguishes how
it wants to perceived with the look and tone of its appointments,
which are more sporty than luxurious. Air conditioning,
cruise control, a remote entry system and an AM/FM radio
with in-dash 4-disc CD changer are standard. LX models feature
a unique Touring Group option, complete with a universal-garage
door opener, a 6-way power driver seat, an outside-temperature
indicator and a compass. LXi models offer available leather
upholstery.
Exterior Features
All three 2004 Chrysler Sebring vehicles have unique exterior
designs. The coupe has bold wheel openings that flare out
from round-cross-section side panels. The belt line drops
down and then ascends sharply toward the tail, and the windshield
pillars flow into the rounded roof.
Performance
There are two engines that occupy the chest cavity of the
2004 Sebring coupe. In LX models, a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder
model with 147 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 158 lb-ft of torque
at 4000 rpm does the trick, while LXi models feature a 3.0-liter
V6 with 200 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 205 lb-ft of torque
at 4500 rpm. 4-speed automatic transmission, 5-speed manual
and 4-speed automatic with manual-shift capability (LXi)
are available.
The current chassis of the Sebring coupe was introduced
in 2001. It has much more rigidity than the previous generation
car. The front suspension consists of MacPherson struts
with lower A-arms and an anti-roll bar. In the rear are
upper A-arms with lower lateral and semi-trailing links,
coil springs and an anti-roll bar.
Safety and Security
Standard safety equipment on the 2004 Chrysler Sebring coupe
consists of dual front airbags, three-point front seatbelts
with adjustable anchors and rear seat ISOFIX child restraint
anchors. Antilock brakes and traction control are optional.
