With an air of distinction and decidedly luxurious approach to driving, the sophisticated Chrysler 300M arrives for 2002 with a series of key changes that improves the overall impressive package. The most notable improvements fall in the performance and handling category.

Available Models
This year, the Chrysler 300M Sedan puts all its eggs in one basket, and with the myriad of upgrades you really don't need to look anywhere else. Everything you want is here - and all at a reasonable price. Several packages are offered to broaden the spectrum of generous features even more.

Interior Features
The gracious and roomy interior of the 300M Sedan Special highlights silver tone laminates on the instrument panel and doors. The colors are sporty but very contemporary to suit anyone's tastes.

All 300M Sedan models feature luxurious standards such as genuine leather-trimmed seats, heated 8-way power adjustable front seats with memory feature on the driver's side, and AM/FM stereo with CD player. Three choices of leather upholstery are available - sandstone, taupe, and dark slate gray.

Options include a genuine walnut wood trim dash, partial wood steering wheel, and an overhead console-mounted electronic vehicle information center.

Exterior Features
New for 2002 are ground effect skirts, a one-inch drop in ride, and eighteen-inch special wheels on the 300M Special. Heated dual power outside mirrors is standard on all 300M's, and auto-dimming driver-side mirror and auto-adjusting outside mirrors are standard fare in the luxury group.

Performance
The Chrysler 300M Special packs a high-output 3.5-litre, SOHC, V6 engine that cranks out 255 horsepower and 255 lbs-ft of torque. Standard 300M models produce 250 horsepower and 250 lbs-ft of torque. All models are classified as low emissions vehicles.

The 300M Special also boasts twin exhaust pipes and a sport-tuned suspension. All models feature the AutoStick transaxle, which combines the convenience of automatic transmission with the control of a manual transmission. The handling is pretty slick and precise, taking corners quietly but sharply. Acceleration is tremendous, with barely audible noise and vibration in the comfortable cabin.

Safety and Security
Each Chrysler 300M comes with a standard array of safety features that includes three-point seatbelts, child safety locks in the rear, child seat tethers and anchors, head restraints, a passenger depowered air bag, and a driver depowered air bag. A theft deterrent system plus remote keyless entry system are also standard fare.
