Outstanding performance and a brilliant array of comforts and conveniences to satisfy even the most discriminating of drivers and passengers are the hallmarks of the luxurious new 2002 Lincoln LS Sedan. Gorgeous, classic lines and a serious set of safety features round out the impressive vehicle, making it a tremendous value.

Available Models
The Lincoln Continental embodies everything you need in a luxury contemporary luxury sedan. One model covers a lot of ground, and options and packages allow you to expand even further on the generous package. Two engines are available - a V6 and a V8.

Interior Features
New for 2002 is an optional Vehicle Communication System - a satellite navigation system. As well, three stunning colors have been added, along with a premium Alpine Audiophile sound system with 6-disc in-dash CD player (a standard feature on the Sport Package).

Standard interior fare includes polished simulated woodgrain detailing with burl walnut veneers, center console, and cockpit-style dash. The driver's seat is 8-way power adjustable, and the passenger seat is 6-way power adjustable. An optional feature on the V6 is driver's seat, steering wheel, and mirror memory features (standard on V8).

Pleasant options are listed as heated front seats and theater-style seating. Dual automatic temperature control with air filter is a basic feature, along with a 60/40 split folding rear seat to accommodate extra cargo.

Exterior Features
The elegant Lincoln LS Sedan is graced with a long wheelbase, wide stance, and short front and rear overhangs for a distinguished appearance. A waterfall grill with chrome header, integrated head lights, front fog lights, and dual exhaust pipes contribute to its rich aura.

Performance
The standard powerhouse for the Lincoln LS Sedan is a 3.0-litre, SOHC, 24-valve V6 engine that cranks out 220 horsepower and 215 lbs-ft of torque. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual, with optional automatic available. Next in line, performance is given a boost with the optional 3.9-litre, DOHC, 32-valve V8 engine that produces 252 horsepower and 261 lbs-ft of torque.

The Lincoln LS is evenly balanced from front to rear, and its excellent suspension and speed sensitive steering lend themselves perfectly to exceptionally sporty handling and a quiet ride.

Safety and Security
In this category, the Lincoln LS Sedan sets an excellent example, featuring standard such as a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, three-point seatbelts, and head restraints. The rear seating area is equipped with two lower tether anchors and three upper tether anchors for child seats, plus child safety locks.

A fuel cut-off sensor is set off in the event of an impact, and each vehicle is built with anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution. The SecuriLock theft deterrent system only allows those with an appropriate key to start the ignition.
