Only a small, limited number of Lincoln Blackwood trucks will be produced for 2002 and the design will stay close to its original conception several years ago. Those who gravitate towards this exceptionally upscale vehicle associate it with an affluent lifestyle, with a decided sense of practicality and cargo-carrying and towing capacities.

Available Models
Just one - and it will blow you away with its impressive array of luxury, performance, and safety features. It embodies everything one could possibly dream about in a truck, and is packaged in a sophisticated and elegant bundle that still looks tough and strong.

Interior Features
The Lincoln Blackwood puts the spotlight on standards such as perforated black leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and temperature-controlled air that is actually pumped through the seating perforations for the ultimate in passenger comfort. Other basic fare ranges from a satellite-based navigation system to a tilt steering column with steering wheel-mounted stereo and climate controls.

The sound system is a premium seven-speaker Alpine with subwoofer and six-CD changer. The interior is finished off in fine style with dark-stained crystal oak and a wood-and-leather trimmed steering wheel. The seating capacity is four passengers in comfortable buckets seats and loads of extra space inside the incredible cabin.

Exterior Features
The trunk of the Lincoln Blackwood features 26.5 cubic feet of cargo space and includes a power tonneau cover. Its interior walls are made of stainless steel for outstanding durability, and it is equipped with tie-down rings and a storage bin in each side, plus open bins in the Dutch doors.

The exterior is highlighted with deep-glass black paint, eighteen-inch wheels and low-profile tires, and the signature Lincoln grille. Bright, tightly-focused headlights, tail lights, and fog lights provide an attractive contrast against the dark paint, along with chromed door handles, side mirrors, and fuel filler door.

Performance
An exceptionally powerful 5.4-litre, 32-valve, DOHC, V8 engine cranks out an impressive 300 horsepower. The new variable-assist power-steering couples with excellent front-to-rear weight balance, and finely tuned suspension, and 18-inch wheels and tires for a simply outstanding, controlled, and precise ride. The motions are fluid and quiet, and the vehicle responds like a charm.

The standard transmission is a 4R1000-model four-speed automatic with overdrive and a locking torque converter. This vehicle can tow up to 8,700 lbs, and is equipped with traction control to eliminate spinning wheels. Limited slip differential is also a key component of the stellar performance specifications.

Safety and Security
Each 2002 Lincoln Blackwood truck is equipped with a driver side air bag, passenger side air bag, side impact air bags in the front, three-point seatbelts, childproof door locks and child seat tethers in the rear seating area.

The side mirrors features built-in signal repeaters, and every vehicle comes with a reverse sensing system to detect obstacles behind you as you back up. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes coupled with electronic brake force distribution maximize control while stopping suddenly. Finally, every Blackwood is equipped with the SecuriLock theft deterrent system that prevents anybody from starting the ignition without the appropriate key.
