The 2004 Pontiac Aztec gives you all-wheel drive, power,
cargo space, safety features and style. Known for its innovative
design and extreme versatility, the Aztek is the model that
originated the sport recreation vehicle segment.
There are a number of new design cloths on the interior
of the 2004 Pontiac Aztek, plus new standard features and
more exterior color choices. In addition, there is also
the Aztek Rally Edition. With the Aztek, you have sedan-like
performance, the spaciousness of a minivan and the ruggedness
of an all-wheel drive SUV.

The 2004 Pontiac Aztek is offered in a base trim, with a
number of optional equipment groups available.
Interior Features
The four-door Pontiac Aztek wagon is able to accommodate
up to five people in its cabin. The primary result of the
Aztek's design is interior room. In fact, there is a total
of 93.5 cubic feet of cargo volume.
Two options groups can be added to the 2004 Aztek: 1SB
and 1SC. The latter includes such features as a tire-pressure
monitor, antilock brakes (2WD), the OnStar system, upgraded
upholstery, a 6-way power driver seat, a leather-wrapped
steering wheel with radio controls and a handy trip computer.
For 2004, a CD/MP3 player is offered. The 2004 Pontiac
Aztek also offers a DVD entertainment system, which has
a 1.5-second "video memory," preventing potholes,
railroad tracks or other rough road surfaces from interfering
with the sound and picture.
Exterior Features
The Pontiac Aztek can certainly back up its claim of versatility.
Outdoor lovers can choose an enhanced camping package, which
includes a custom tent that fits securely over the rear
half of the vehicle and an awning at the back of the vehicle
and a custom-sized air mattress that rests on the wide flat
load floor when the rear seats are folded up or removed.
You can inflate the air mattress by using the integrated
inflator or the optional auxiliary accessory outlet located
in the cargo area.
Performance
Driving the 2004 Pontiac Aztek is a 3.4-liter V6 engine
with 185 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque
at 4000 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed electronic automatic
transmission.
Up front, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek features MacPherson struts
fitted with four-stage shock absorber valving for optimum
ride and handling. In back, AWD Aztek models benefit from
a short-and-long-arm independent suspension designed and
engineered specifically for this application.
Safety and Security
Standard safety features include antilock brakes, dual front
airbags, side-impact airbags (standard on AWD models) and
daytime running lights.
