The seating capacity is seven passengers. Standard equipment includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt feature, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and power door locks.

Optional on the Mountaineer are adjustable brake and accelerator peadlas and power adjustable sets.

Exterior Features
On the outside, changes for 2002 include moving the traditional rocker panels out of sight. The exterior also sports a waterfall grille, machined aluminum wheels, and horizontal brush guards over the taillights. Other changes include a wider track and longer wheelbase.
