Visit Honda for more information on the Honda Passport.

The new 2002 Honda Passport Sport Utility Vehicle is amongst one of the toughest four-wheel drive SUV's to hit the market - both on and off-road. On the one hand, it is gifted with civilized refinement, a handsome design, and a plethora of comforts and conveniences. On the other, the Passport features rugged durability and one of the most powerful and efficient six-cylinder engines in its class.

Available Models
The Honda Passport SUV is offered this year in three trim levels - Passport LX, Passport EX, and the luxurious Passport EX-L. Both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions are available depending on your driving requirements.

Interior Features
Within the spacious and inviting interior of the Passport are amenities that include power windows, power door locks, cruise control, UV-treated glass for front doors and rear hatch, fade-out map lights, handy cargo area net and cover, tinted glass, adjustable steering column, and a powerful sound system with eight speakers.

At the top level, the Passport EX Luxury Package bears opulent genuine leather trim and an in-dash six-disc CD changer for entertainment value.

Exterior Features
The Honda Passport SUV sports body-colored bumpers and a convenient roof rack for cargo and traveling with luggage and sports equipment. It is built with triple-sealed doors, and a body-on-frame construction common among trucks and SUVs.

On the elegant and well-appointed Passport EX model, the exterior features a custom lower two-tone paint treatment with color-keyed body side molding and attractive fender flares.

Performance
The Honda Passport Sport Utility is outstanding in this category, packing an impressive 3.2-litre, 24-valve, DOHC, aluminum alloy six-cylinder engine that cruises along smoothly and efficiently to the tune of 205 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque for terrific hill-climbing capabilities. Each vehicle is equipped with variable power-assist rack-and-pinion steering, double wishbone front suspension, and front and rear stabilizer bars for a stable ride and tremendous handling.

Choose from the two-wheel drive models or more aggressive shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive version for increased power and control on all fours for negotiating adverse weather and terrain conditions.

The standard transmission on the base model is a five-speed manual, checking in with a fuel economy rating of 17/20 mpg (city/hwy) for 2WD. The automatic transmission bears a rating of 17/21 mpg (city/hwy). A 4WD manual transmission vehicle hits the mark at 17/20 mpg (city/hwy), while the automatic registers at 16/20 mpg (city/hwy).

Safety and Security
For the safety of its passengers, each Honda Passport SUV is bolstered with integrated steel beams that resist intrusion during side impacts, front and rear crumple zones, and impact-absorbing bumpers. As well, every vehicle is equipped with three-point seatbelts at outboard positions, had restraints, a driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and child proof rear locks.
