The four-door Sable Sedan has several new features
this year, including a LED rear center high mounted stop

as an option of the GS Plus and LS Premium, security approach
lightning on all models. The LS Premium has the option of
luxurious leather seating, and a variety of new modern paint
colors has been released.
The spacious interior is available in five-passenger and
six-passenger configurations. The five-pasenger model sports
a floor-mounted shifter and front center console, while
the six-passenger vehicles have a flip-fold center seat
that also doubles as a handy center console when not in

The rear seat splits 60/40 and folds down to accommodate
surplus cargo, and there is 16.0 cubic feet of luggage volume

The Mercury Sable Sedan is graced with attractive

wheels. The LS Premium sports seven-spoke alloy wheels.

Beginning with the Mercury Sable GS Sedan, it
packs a 3.0-litre, OHV, 12-valve Vulcan V6 engine that cranks
out 155 horsepower and 185 lbs-ft of torque. The Sable LS
Sedan is powered by a 3.0-litre, 24-valve, Duratec V6 engine
with 200 horsepower and 200 lbs-ft of torque.
Standard transmission on each of these front-wheel drive
models is a responsive four-speed automatic transmission.
Handling is smooth and effortless, with minimal noise and
vibration.
Safety and Security
The 2002 Mercury Sable Sedan highlights notable
