The PT Cruiser still transports one back to the glory days
of the American automobile but this year they have changed
the line-up slightly, offering fewer standards on the Base
model to make the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser more accessible
to a wider market.
The choice of three engines and four trim levels mean that
the upper end of the PT Cruiser admirers will still be able
to get the car they wanted but this versatile Chrysler is
going to keep its reputation as a vehicle that can be styled
to order.
Available Models
The 2005 PT Cruiser is offered in four models: Base, Touring,
Limited and GT editions.
Interior Features
The four-door 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser's innovative design
transfers versatility to the owner. It seats five and features
a front passenger seat that folds and a rear seat that stows
or removes for extra cargo room. All total, the result is
64.2 cubic feet of space. The three models suit different
tastes with a functional base, a slightly more luxurious
and touring-friendly, appropriately tilted "Touring"
model and the more luxurious Limited. Then you get the GT,
a performance-oriented sport model with all the luxury of
the Limited edition (plus) and a performance ethic thrown
in to spice up the mix.
To provide a bit of detail, the Limited comes with A/C,
cruise control, driver-seat power height adjuster and lumbar
adjustment, power everything else, leather-wrapped steering
wheel, CD audio player, compass, outside-temperature indicator,
universal garage-door opener and more. GT adds leather upholstery
and a power sunroof.
A number of options are available. One, available on all
models, is a Sirius® Satellite Radio Receiver. It is
factory-installed since 2004, and includes a one-year subscription.
Another new option is the UConnect hands-free communication
system. It uses controls on the electrochromic rearview
mirror to provide hands-free, in-vehicle communication.
Integrated into the PT Cruiser's electrical architecture,
the audio is heard through radio speakers, with the customer's
own cellular phone conveniently placed anywhere in the vehicle.
Exterior Features
The options keep coming. on the sporty GT model, expect
a rear spoiler, and fat 17-inch tires on chrome alloy wheels.
Fog lights and rear privacy glass round out the exterior.

inline 4-cylinder model with 150 horsepower at 5200 rpm
and 162 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. 4-speed automatic and
5-speed manual transmission are both offered.
