2004 Volvo XC70 - Price Quote

Visit Volvo for more information on the Volvo XC70.

The 2004 Volvo XC70 is a close cousin to the V70. They are both highly capable wagons with extremely thorough safety features and all sorts of functional equipment. However, the XC70 does distinguish itself from the V70 with its raised suspension and more SUV-like brand of ruggedness.

2004 Volvo XC70 models have more standard and optional equipment. Among the optional packages is a Touring group, which is perfect for traveling families. It includes an automatic day/night rearview mirror, a universal garage-door opener, an interior air-quality system, a grocery-bag holder, a cargo net and security laminated side windows.

More like a crossover vehicle than anything else, the XC70 joins the V70 in what Volvo says are the safest wagons they've ever built. Coming from Volvo, that really is saying something.

Available Models
The 2004 Volvo XC70 is offered in one trim.

Interior Features
The woor Volvo XC70's interior cabin sits five. It also provides a useful 71.4 cubic feet of cargo volume.

When compared to the V70 lineup, the Volvo XC70 fits right in the middle of the pack in terms of standard equipment. It has a tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, heated front bucket seats, a memory system (driver seat, mirrors), an AM/FM/cassette/CD player and rain-sensing wipers.

Buyers can also choose an optional Leather Package, which features leather upholstery, an 8-way power passenger seat, a power sunroof and a trip computer.

Exterior Features
The 2004 Volvo XC70 now offers optional Bi-Xenon gas-discharge headlamps. Two new colors are also available: Crystal Green pearl and Ice White.

Performance
The engine used by the Volvo XC70 is a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline 5-cylinder model capable of generating 208 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 236 lb-ft of torque at 1500 rpm. Mated to the engine is a standard 5-speed Geartronic transmission that allows either fully automatic or driver selectable gear changes.

Volvo's Haldex all-wheel-drive system is standard. The electronically-controlled system reacts to wheel slippage, routing power to the wheels with greater traction.
Other engineering components that contribute to the overall ride quality of Volvo's cross-country wagon are rack-and-pinion steering, 4-wheel independent suspension and traction control.

Safety and Security
The comprehensive array of safety features that XC70 models come with includes a standard Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) with side airbags and curtain side airbags. The wagon also has seat belts with pyrotechnic pretensioners in all seating positions, dual-stage front airbags (SRS), Volvo's safety cage construction and the ISO-FIX attachment for rearward-facing child safety seats.
