2004 Volvo V40 - Price Quote

Visit Volvo for more information on the Volvo V40.

The Volvo S40 Series refers to the S40 sedan and V40 wagon. They are the entry-level models from the manufacturer known worldwide as probably the safety leader. Obviously, such a stereotype is one that won't bother the people at Volvo too much.

There is not much difference between people that buy the Volvo S40 and those that opt for the V40. They are both well educated, with an orientation towards friends and are family-centric. Such is the information from Volvo, and they've undoubtedly done their research.

2004 will be the last year for the 40 Series. To mark this, 2500 special Limited Sport Edition versions of the 40 Series will be offered.

Available Models
The Volvo 40 Series sedans and wagons are available in base and uplevel LSE (Limited Sport Edition) models.

Interior Features
Volvo says that V40 owners look at their vehicle as a sedan with a long roof, and not as a traditional wagon. Either way, the V40 brings the obvious benefit of increased interior room. While the S40 and 2004 Volvo V40 both sit five, the V40 has 68.1 cubic feet of cargo space.

40 Series models get a nicely appointed interior that is both secure and comfortable. All models receive air conditioning with automatic climate control, heated power mirrors, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, an AM/FM/CD player and more.

Inside of the new LSE is an interior that adds such things as leather upholstery, an 8-way power driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power sunroof and a trip computer.

Exterior Features
The new 2004 Volvo V40 LSE is also distinguished by a color-contrasting exterior, a rear spoiler and special alloy wheels.

Performance
The front-wheel drive 40 Series comes fitted with an efficient 1.9-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 177 lb-ft of torque at 1800 rpm.

The standard adaptive 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission that is mated to the I4 tailors the S40 or Volvo V40's performance characteristics to your personal driving style. It also helps to give the 40 Series a nice fuel rating of 22/30 mpg (city/highway).

A 4-wheel independent suspension and power steering allow the 2004 Volvo S40 sedan and the V40 wagons to dodge around or go easily over bumps on the road.

Safety and Security
These models are very safe. The standard package includes dual front airbags, front side airbags, curtain side airbags, front-seat active head restraints and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes.
