Visit Dodge for more information on the Dodge Neon.

With the introduction of a new turbocharged model, the Dodge Neon can no longer be thought of as a simple day-to-day vehicle. True, the entry-level trims still pack in the value and can rightly be qualified as everyday vehicles, but the brand new SRT-4 model pushes the performance level through the roof. The result is an even more diverse line of vehicles, all with the tested reliability of the Neon nameplate.

From 2003 onward, the Neon is certainly going to earn itself a new reputation. Thanks to the SRT-4, the Neon now boasts the title of the second fastest Dodge on the road (second to only the Viper). Now that is something not many would have expected. Of course, if excessive speed isn't your thing, there are always other trims to choose from.

Available Models
The 2003 Dodge Neon is offered in four trim levels: SE, SXT, R/S and the new SRT-4.

Interior Features
The four-door 2003 Dodge Neon sedan seats five people. A new steering wheel is just one of the many improvements seen on the 2003 Dodge Neon. SE models are the bare bones entry-level trims. The SXT adds more comfort with such things as air conditioning, power mirrors, front windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, an AM/FM/CD player and a tachometer. Moving up to the R/S gets you cruise control and an AM/FM/cassette player with an in-dash 6-disc CD changer.

The interior of the new SRT-4 reminds one of its racing inspiration. It is given a satin silver center stack, shift knob and door handles, performance seats modeled after those in the Dodge Viper and carbon-fiber texture leather on the steering wheel and shift boot. For more, one need only consult the options list.

Exterior Features
The 2003 Dodge Neon has newly restyled front and rear fascias, headlamps and taillamps. The SRT-4 gets a unique body trim including a functional hood scoop and a basket-handle rear spoiler.

Performance
There are three engines spread across the 2003 Dodge Neon line. The first, a 132-horsepower 4-cylinder model, is standard with the SE and SXT trim levels. The R/T is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 150 horsepower. The engine responsible for all of the speed of the new SRT-4 model is a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 215 horsepower. Combine that power with the Neon's relatively small size, and you can only imagine how fast the SRT-4 goes.

All 2003 Dodge Neon models offer customers better performance. A revised automatic transaxle calibration improves driver feel, while a new generation controller combines engine and transaxle functions. New engine mounts also make the new Neon quieter than ever before.

Safety and Security
The Neon includes a LATCH (Lower Anchors and upper Tethers for Children) child seat anchorage system, child-protection door locks and an emergency internal trunk lid release. In addition to standard driver and front passenger airbags, seat-mounted, supplemental side airbags also are available. Other safety features include two-way adjustable head restraints and three-point lap/shoulder belts for all three rear-seat positions.
