America's best-selling compact pickup truck, the 2005 Ford
Ranger has a lot to keep up with. Naturally, the designers
are careful not to change the recipe but instead, have focussed
on the elements that make the Ranger so popular. With the
upscale Rangers described here, the luxurious 2005 Ford
Ranger XLT and the offroad twins FX4 and FX4 Level II, that
is certainly true.
The offroad-designed FX4 now has an even more capable big
brother. Ranger has taken it up a notch with the appropriately
described FX4 Level II. Their theory seems to have been
that if it was available as an option for any other year
as an offroad enhancement, then put it on the 2005 Ranger
FX4 Level II as standard equipment. Read below to see the
result.

The 2005 Ranger is available in XL, EDGE, XLT, FX4 and FX4
Level II trims, in Regular Cab and two- and four-door SuperCab.
