Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" is the theme song
for Cadillac's resurgence in the automotive world, and it
couldn't be more appropriate for the 2004 Cadillac CTS.
This car has all the innovative style, attitude and performance
ability to warrant such a heart-pumping theme.
For 2004, automatic transmission CTS models feature a new
variable valve timing V6 engine and new shocks and shock
mounts. One of the designs of this new engine is to reduce
or eliminate all sources of undesirable engine noise. However,
it does allow an undeniable (and pleasant) humming come
through.
Available Models
The 2004 Cadillac CTS is available with either manual transmission
or automatic transmission.
Interior Features
The four-door 2004 Cadillac CTS sedan seats five passengers.
Its interior is crafted to create a harmonious interaction
between the high-tech cockpit and the rest of the cabin.
While leather upholstery is standard, wood is used sparingly-only
in areas with which the customer comes into contact, such
as on the steering wheel, shifter knob and door pulls.
Additional refinements include chrome accents on the ashtray,
a body-colored center armrest, a color-keyed center console,
an instrument cluster temperature gauge, an AM/FM/CD/cassette
player, a rear defogger and bright white lighting. A new
power adjustable lumbar support with power adjustable seat
is optional.
Exterior Features
The Cadillac CTS is definitely a unique looking car. It
has angular lines and sharp drop-offs that give it a space-age
form. This isn't surprising considering the CTS adopted
stealth aircraft technology into its design.
Performance
The new engine on 2004 Cadillac CTS models with 5-speed
automatic transmission with manual-shift capability is a
3.6-liter VVT V6 model. With specially isolated cam covers
and internal damping plates to quell engine vibrations,
the engine produces its 255 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of
torque very quietly and efficiently.
CTS models with 5-speed manual transmission feature a revamped
3.2-liter V6 engine. With improved emissions and driveability,
it produces 220 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque.
Both CTS models handle with exacting precision. The CTS'
Sigma architecture marks the first time that steel has been
incorporated as a welded member of the structure. The result
is a lighter, tougher frame that, when coupled with StabiliTrak,
independent front and rear suspension and full-range traction
control, provides excellent responsiveness.
Safety and Security
The 2004 Cadillac CTS is also a very safety-oriented vehicle.
It has standard dual front airbags, curtain side airbags,
antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and Xenon high-intensity discharge
halogen headlamps. An optional Sport Package adds better
suspension components as well as performance brake linings.
