The 2003 Cadillac Seville: a luxury car whose refined styling
at times overshadows the high degree of performance under
the hood. In fact, the Seville has been named by more than
a few reputable sources the finest front-wheel drive performance
sedan out there. Whether this is in fact the case is open
to debate, but what it surely represents is the type of
ability the 2003 Cadillac Seville offers. Keeping in mind
that it is also in the luxury class, it becomes obvious
that the 2003 Cadillac Seville is a fine automobile.
Available Models
The 2003 Cadillac Seville is offered in an SLS (Seville
Luxury Sedan) model and an STS (Seville Touring Sedan) model.
Interior Features
Five people sit very comfortably within the Seville's soft
leather interior. The standard features that accompany the
smooth styling are dished out generously. The SLS has an
AM/FM/cassette/CD player, the OnStar System, air conditioning
with dual zone automatic climate control, an outside temperature
display, a power tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering
wheel with radio and climate controls and cruise control.
The STS comes with all of that and a memory system with
seat, mirrors, steering wheel, climate control and radio
presets, a Bose AM/FM/weatherband/cassette/CD player and
rain-sensing wipers.
Featuring 100 digital channels, XM Satellite Radio is an
appealing option. Another is a navigation system that incorporates
voice recognition and DVD mapping and can play entertainment
DVDs over the 6.5-inch dashboard screen with the transmission
in Park.
Exterior Features
The 2003 Cadillac Seville SLS has a new exterior that distinguishes
it from previous models. New body-colored grille and foglamps
give the Seville a monochromatic appearance. This monochromatic
exterior look first began in 2000 with the STS taillamps,
rocker moldings and wheels
Performance
The performance referred to previously stems from the acclaimed
Northstar engines found in the Seville. SLS models come
with a strong 4.6-liter/ 279-cu. inch Northstar V8 with
275 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque at 4000
rpm. The STS has an even faster 4.6-liter/ 279-cu. inch
Northstar V8 with 300 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 295 lb-ft
of torque at 4400 rpm.
STS models truly are sophisticated machines, featuring
stability control, Continuously Variable Road-Sensing Suspension,
Performance Algorithm Shifting and much more. For 2003,
STS is given Magnetic Ride Control, which uses a revolutionary
damper design that controls wheel and body motion with magneto-rheological
(MR) fluid in the shocks and struts.
Safety and Security
Both models address safety with dual front and side airbags,
antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, an antiskid system and a rear-obstacle
detection system.
