Interior Features
The interior is well laid out but features a lot of hard plastics, the cabin features plenty of headroom for both front and rear seat passengers but with the front seats in there full back position the rear seat legroom does suffer.
Cargo storage is on the low end with 22.7 cu.-ft. behind the rear seats and 53.6 cu.-ft. with the seats folded down – but then again this is a compact crossover SUV so that is to be expected.
While air conditioning is standard there is an option to upgrade it to automatic temperature control on the Latitude and sub-trim High Altitude. Auto-dimming rear view mirror with built in microphone comes standard across the trims as does UConnect Voice Command with Bluetooth and remote USB port.
The interior comes in Dark Slate Gray (available on all trims), Dark Slate Gray with Light Pebble Beige (available on the Sport, Latitude and High Altitude), Dark Slate Gray with Saddle Tan exclusive to the High Altitude or Black with Light Frost Beige exclusive to the 75th Anniversary Edition.
There is a Parkview Rear Camera Package standard on the Latitude and optional on the Sport that includes Uconnect Media Center, AM/FM/CD/DVD radio with MP3/WMA support, 40GB hard drive and a 6.5-inch touchscreen.

Exterior Features
While the 2016 Jeep Compass looks modern and bold with a front end inspired by its bigger siblings the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee – some wish that it still had the more classic jeep look to it round headlights and larger jeep grille.
Standard on the Latitude are dual heated power foldaway mirrors, fog lamps, and side roof rails. A sunroof is available in a package on the Latitude and standard on the High Altitute and 75th Anniversary Edition.

Performance
There are two engines that power the Compass a 2.0-Liter I4 engine that comes standard on FWD versions (except the 75th Anniversary Edition) and a 2.4-Liter I4 Engine that comes standard on 4x4 versions and the 75th Anniversary FWD and is available on the Sport FWD and Latitude FWD.
While the 2.0-Liter I-4 offers slightly better mileage – the 2.4-Liter is a much more capable engine and should be chosen unless money is a factor.
For those who want to do some off-roading in their Compass you’ll want to get the Freedom-Drive II Off-road Group it adds 17x6.5-inch aluminum wheels and All-terrain tires, four-wheel drive off-road mode, brake-lock differential, engine oil cooler, fuel tank skid plate shield, Hill-descent Control and Hill start Assist as well as a full-size spare tire and tow hooks.
Safety and Security
The Jeep Compass comes with six airbags – Advanced multistage Front Airbags, Supplemental Front Seat-Mounted Side Airbags and Supplemental Side-curtain Front Airbags. Also standard across all trims are Electronic Roll Mitigation, Speed Control, Electronic Stablility Control and Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System.
