Visit Honda for more information on the Honda CR-V.

The 2003 Honda CR-V is one of the most successful compact sport utility vehicles on the market. This year it returns with more power, better standard offerings and enhanced safety technology. The CR-V is designed for families with high cargo carrying, person carrying and adventure supporting requirements. The CR-V has all these characteristics and more.

Available Models
The 2003 Honda CR-V lineup includes a variety of trim-levels and drivetrain options. It comes in a base LX 2-wheel drive, AWD LX and AWD EX, the top-level model.

Interior Features
Interior content has been enhanced this year with small details refining interior fittings. Still, the excellent complement of feature from last year returns with a bang.

These include comfort and convenience like air conditioning, interior air filtration, cruise control, cloth upholstery on front bucket seats and a split folding rear seat, AM/FM/cassette/CD player, power steering, mirrors, windows and door locks. EX adds a stereo upgrade with an in-dash 6 CD changer and remote keyless entry.

The 2003 Honda CR-V also has some added versatility that enhances its claim to be a versatile adventure vehicle. Items like the folding picnic table and the stowable rear seat make for great extra utility.

Exterior Features
The 2003 Honda CR-V exterior is a both stylish and functional. A power sunroof, alloy wheels, roof rails and an outside mounted full-size spare 205/70R15 tire adds value. Rear privacy glass is standard on the up-level EX model.

Performance
All the CR-V models share a 4-cylinder 2.4-liter engine. This offers ample power for most urban requirements and, on the AWD models, makes for a versatile and capable all-purpose engine choice.

The inline 4 produces 160 hp at 6000 rpm and 16 lb-ft of torque at 3600. This can be teamed to either a 4-speed automatic or a 5speed manual transmission system. The AWD allows the power to be directed to the wheels that have the most traction and the 2WD model is front wheel drive for enhanced traction in snow and mud.

Mileage is quite respectable for such a big and versatile vehicle. The CR-V is rated at 21/25 mpg (city/hwy).

Safety and Security
The base LX has dual front airbags and 4-wheel disc brakes. An upgrade to the EX adds antilock and front side airbags.
