In comparison to the regular length 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer,
the EXT has more than a foot tacked on to its wheelbase
(129 inches). This results in more interior space, which
the EXT uses to add a third row for a total of seven-passenger
seating. The 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT is at home on
the road and off it, as comfortable carrying families around
as it is hauling heavy goods. It also handles well, ensures
safety, and, like all Chevy trucks, rests upon a strong
tradition of dependability.
Available Models
The 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT comes in a base model
and a North Face Edition, which includes a number of special
features designed for the outdoor enthusiast.
Interior Features
The four-door 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT has an abundance
of room in its cabin. There is more than 22 cubic feet of
cargo space behind the third seat, while the second and
third rows can be folded flat to provide 100.2 cubic feet
of cargo space. There are plenty of standard features to
make any trip enjoyable. Rear air conditioning and heater
with rear controls, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise
control, 8-way power driver seat, heated power mirrors,
remote keyless entry, rear defogger, overhead console, universal
garage-door opener and digital memo recorder are just some
of the features on the list.
The interior of the new North Face Edition is decked out
with North Face seats, mesh map pockets, liftgate lighting,
an underfloor storage cargo liner, heavy-duty floor/cargo
mats and special North Face duffel bags and blanket. Not
stopping there, manufacturers offer an entire set of options
packages and individual upgrades.
Exterior Features
The exterior of the North Face Edition features lower accent-color
body cladding, body-colored outside rear-view mirrors, rain-sensing
wipers, an adjustable cargo shelf with a table, running
lamps, a liftgate luggage rack, headlamp washers, B-pillar
badging and a clothesline.
Performance
The upgraded engine on the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer adds
more power and meets or exceeds all sound requirements.
The EXT shares the same engine as its smaller brother, offering
the Vortec 4.2-liter/ 256-cu. inch I6 with 275 horsepower
at 6000 rpm and 275 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. Four-wheel
drive is available with all Trailblazers.
Like the regular Trailblazer, the EXT handles exceptionally
well with its combinations of five-link rear suspension,
independent, double-A-arm front suspension and hydraulic
power-assist rack-and-pinion steering. Unlike the regular
Trailblazer however, the EXT offers an engine upgrade to
a Vortec 5300 5.3-liter/ 325-cu. inch V8 with 290 horsepower
at 5200 rpm and 325 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.
Safety and Security
All 2003 Trailblazers are given a comprehensive safety package
with four-wheel vented disc antilock brakes with front aluminum
dual piston calipers and dual-stage front airbags. The brakes
use an advanced system of 12 specially tuned body mounts
to isolate road inputs and noise, limiting vibration and
harshness on any surface.
