The glamorous and elegant new 2002 Buick Park Avenue Sedan
lives up to the suggestion of its name - a spacious and
comfortable four-door sedan brimming with civility, luxuries,
and quiet power. You can keep piling on the comforts and
conveniences, as Buick allows you to make the many of the
choices yourself according to your individual driving needs.
Available Models
With two models offered and two model configurations,
the 2002 Buick Park Avenue Sedan makes selecting the vehicle
that is right for you fun and easy. On the market this year
are the Park Avenue base model sedan and the Park Avenue
Ultra Sedan.
Interior Features
Beginning with the elegant base model Buick Park
Avenue, we find extensive luxuries such as tilt steering
column, ten-way power adjustable 55/45 split front bench
with power recliners, leather seating surfaces, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, rear seat pass-through to trunk, power door
locks, and power windows.
The
impressive list goes on to include steering wheel-mounted
radio controls, delayed entry and exit courtesy lights with
theater dimming, cruise control, and an anti-theft AM/FM
stereo with cassette player and six speakers. Also included
in the package are front and rear seat armrests with dual
cup holders and storage, and automatic dual zone climate
control with air filter and rear seat outlet.
The 2002 Buick Park Avenue Ultra Sedan adds an electrochromatic
auto-dimming rearview mirror, driver information center,
overhead console with reading lights and programmable universal
transmitter, driver seat memory, and dual outside mirrors
with Parallel Park Assist feature. The Ultra model also
boasts a ten-way power adjustable leather trimmed 55/45
heated split front bench with power recliners and memory
feature, power shoulder belt height adjusters, four-way
power lumbar support, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Exterior Features
The intelligent and commanding presence of the
2002 Buick Park Avenue Sedan is highlighted by dual power
outside mirrors (heated with auto-dimming feature on the
Ultra), sixteen-inch aluminum wheels, and your choice of
Black, Medium Red Pearl, Ming Blue Metallic, or Granite
exterior paint. A power slide-and-tilt sunroof with sunshade
is offered as an option on both models.
Performance
Performance specifications for the impressive
2002 Buick Park Avenue Sedan include two choices - a 3800
Series II six-cylinder engine that produces 205 horsepower
and 230 lb-ft of torque, or a 3800 Series II Supercharged
six-cylinder engine that pumps out a swift 240 horsepower
and 280 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration and uphill power are
exceptional on both models, with the latter truly making
a tremendously noticeable difference. The fuel economy ratings
register at 19/30 mpg and 18/27 mpg (city/hwy) respectively.
The added benefits of the 2002 Buick Park Avenue Ultra
Sedan include a StabiliTrak automatic chassis control system,
dealer programmable magnetic variable-effort power rack-and-pinion
steering, tire inflation monitor, and traction control (all
available on the base). Each model features four-speed electronically
controlled automatic transmission with overdrive and transmission
shift interlock.
Safety and Security
Standard fare on both of the Park Avenue Sedans
includes four-wheel ABS brakes, driver and front passenger
air bags, side impact air bags, articulating front head
restraints (and rear on the Ultra), child seat tethers and
anchors, child safety locks, remote keyless entry system,
and a theft deterrent system. As well, every vehicle comes
